Breath-less-ly in love with you,Boss

What's that smell, Boss?
I was quite in an ecstatic mood that day as I woke up though
a little jittery as that was my first day at office. Lots of dreams and some
fused expressions stung me up with teeny-weeny twinge.
I was there in my cubicle all waiting for the person who
would assign me my new task. Waiting quite a long time for him I got a little
tired but then my eyes opened when I saw him standing a little far off from me.
He smiled at me and greeted me from that corner seat. His hands flew in the air
and I could interpret his gestures which assured me that he would be there in 5
minutes.
His body language spoke of his nature and
I had this comfort feeling suddenly draping me; well that was after all my
first day at office.
One of my colleagues introduced herself to me and asked
about my immediate manager/Boss and I was quite happy pointing out my finger and
saying “He is the one.”
Day-2
Again it was morning, that
day my cubicle looked a little different with some cards, flowers which emitted
aroma, chocolates, a beautiful room freshener and some lovely white paper
napkins and tissues.
I really felt at home but there were these giggles which I
could hear, I knew new faces always invited curiosity and may be they were
talking about my looks or my calibre. I ignored and was waiting breath-less-ly
for my Boss.
Oh there he was, he came up to me, shook his hands and sat
beside me explaining me about my project and assignments.
I went home; I came back again the next morning.
He said he would like me to come to his room and understand
few of those pending tasks.
The room looked normal with conventional office furniture’s
but I rang him peeping from outside “Hello, Sir I am having fever since morning
can I go home and call you up and thereafter you can explain me .”
My cubicle looked the same, those colleagues still giggled
at the same hours, the room freshener smiled back at me though she was squeezed
till the end and those flowers, they could render happiness in my
life. Frangrance of Rose was brawling and jostling with a strong contender but
resigned as she lay there lifeless struggling hard to just blow away that smelly
Boss of mine.
My nose was battling every day punching, stabbing and
smacking out whenever my Boss was in, an around.
Piles of tissues smothering my sweet little nose till it
turned its colour.
The bottle of perfume used to dance frantically throwing
herself lavishly here and there without even seeing the direction.
My bills on room freshener were just mounting so high that I
thought I could buy a full crate in a subsidised rate.
But all those efforts were in vain once he made himself
comfortable in my cubicle or in the room itself.
Days passed on but office had become a nightmare. My dreams
too saw my nose sniffing savagely, furiously, once my husband pulled it so hard
saying “Stop this nonsense; what do you have to sniff every night in your
dreams like that street Dog, better visit a Doc.”
My reality was becoming a tragic and horror tale. But I had
made up my mind to either change my office or his smell.Changing office meant changing Boss but he was such a sweet
Boss, so seeking for another sweetBoss would have been an unattainable or rather impossible task
and I was no fool.
So, I took up the herculean task as a mere subordinate and
boldly asked one day “Sir, when is your B’day?”He was
such an innocent soul. Replied back “It’s on this Sunday.”
Me-“Sir, I am so blessed to have you as my Boss; I think I
need to gift you with the best of things. How about a water heater. It will
keep you cool with those messy
subordinates and those quick showers from this water heater will cool down your
temper when I come late, when your clients play the age old trick of the same blame game and when you need fresh ideas. Just a fresh cool
shower is the secret for success.
And it’s been 2 years and I am in the same office just that
my cubicle is very close to his desk and I have no room for room freshener’s
jut that I enter my Boss’s room and the magic begins.
